About NONECO
Northern Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NONECO) was originally known as V-M-C Rural Electric Services Cooperative, Inc. (VRESCO). It holds the distinction of being the pilot rural electrification project in the Philippines. NONECO was originally incorporated as a stock corporation on April 1963. On June 19, 1965, the franchise was granted to operate in the municipalities of Victorias Manapla and Cadiz City by virtue of R.A. 4598. NONECO was converted into a non-stock and non-profit electric cooperative under NEA per R.A. 6038, as amended by P.D. 269 in October 1969.
It has continued to provide electricity to important facilities that served as the life blood of Northern Negros such as Sugar Central Industry, Tourism Attractions, Old Historic Churches, and both religious and colourful festivals. The service area coverage of NONECO has expanded to include the cities of Cadiz, Victorias, Sagay, Escalante and San Carlos, as well as the towns of Toboso, E.B. Magalona, Calatrava and Manapla.
